This wiki has been constructed to support teachers of K-2 classes in finding appropriate resources for teaching about the events of Holy Week (Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday). Holy_Week.jpg

The Holy Week unit in every stage is an important aspect of learning about Jesus’ life. It is where the students are introduced to Jesus as the one who loves us, who seeks out the lost, who humbly serves others and who provides nourishment (Catholic Education Office Sydney, 2004).

The content found on this wiki has been compiled by the creator in line with the Catholic Education Office Sydney's curriculum units. Below are the Outcomes and Indicators these resources may address. Please note that depending on how the resource is used, to what outcome and indicator will be met.
Kindergarten (K.2):
Outcomes:
ES 1.2: Respond to Scripture stories
ES 1.3: Communicate basic knowledge about Jesus
Indicators: Students will:
- Listen and respond to the story of Jesus washing the disciples’ feet
- Talk about ways they can serve others
- Become familiar with the stories of the Last Supper and the death of Jesus
Year 1 (1.2):
Outcomes:
S1.2: Demonstrate growing familiarity with Scripture stories
S1.3: Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of Jesus and his teachings
S1.7.1: Identify the key times of the liturgical year
Indicators: Students will:
- Learn about how Jesus asked us to remember him
- Listen and respond to the events of Holy Week
Year 2 (2.2):
Outcomes:
S1.2: Demonstrate growing familiarity with Scripture stories
S1.3: Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of Jesus and his teachings
S1.7.1: Identify the key times of the liturgical year
Indicators: Students will:
- Become familiar with the events of Jesus’ life in Holy Week
- Respond to each of these events
